Here you will find details about FreezerBurn, the Central Texas Winter regional Burn. It is now our 5th year! Our last 2012 burn was the best one yet! If you are new to Burning Flipside or Burning Man, you should read below very carefully and definitely read the entire Survival Guide.
1) FreezerBurn is a local arts and music festival inspired by Flipside and Burning Man, where art, music, food, self-expression and entertainment are brought by the participants, where volunteers come together to create art, performances and to experiment in temporary communities. It is a private camping event held on private property.
2) At FreezerBurn personal responsibility is key. There are no GARBAGE CANS. This is a Leave No Trace event, if you bring it in, you take it out. NO EXCEPTIONS. Expect to be reminded not to litter and to take your trash and recycling with you.
3) There are no concession stands or retail transactions on the camp grounds. Ironically probably not even ice because the event is short. FreezerBurn implements a gift-economy. If you need something, ask for it. If you have something to give, gift it. It's not about bartering, it's about gifting and receiving. Be sure to bring whatever you think you might need for camping outdoors 2 nights in January.
4) Vendors, Vending machines, weapons, firearms, tasers, fireworks, rockets and all other explosives prohibited. Aggressive or violent behavior will not be welcomed openly and may lead to dismissal from the property. Theft of any kind by participants will lead to dismissal. Auto-dis-qualification
5) Dogs are allowed but only on a leash and AT ALL TIMES. Each dog brought to the event must have its own leash and remain on it at all times, no exceptions. The owner will have to pay a fee for each dog they bring to the camp grounds. Owners not following the rules will be asked to leave the event.
6) If you are fearing the cold, remember that Rec Plant has nice warm showers available and nice bathrooms. The pavilion will have running space heaters as well as fires in the fire circles. There will be places to stay warm. 4' camp fires are allowed in designated fire circles.

We have capped online sales in order to provide plenty of tickets at the gate. Will-call pickup is also available.
Growth of the event itself is something we have been considering very cautiously. The move to accepting online tickets is designed to help organize the gate process for everyone. By putting the proper tech in place for controlling ticket tiers and selection methods we will have a scalable system for supporting us as we grow slowly.
Ticket proceeds go directly into the land fees and if there is any extra it is saved for future FreezerBurn infrastructure or current FreezerBurn propane heaters.
Note that the Event Coordinator, volunteers and all performers are paying their entry.
Walk-up: $25 per person (dog owners +$15 per dog)
Donations can be made at the gate to help offset costs for heaters and effigy build materials. Thank you!
